ISO 7435 - Slotted set screws and pins
ISO 7435 is the international standard for slotted set screws with a long dog point. Export drawings and international specifications frequently call these out by their ISO number rather than the German DIN designation, so Definite Metal supplies them marked and certified to ISO 7435. The screw is headless, driven with a flat screwdriver, and carries a long unthreaded nose that drops into a hole or slot in the mating part to locate it positively. We manufacture ISO 7435 in CW614N brass across the full standard range, M1.6 to M12. Part of our brass grub screws range.
How the Standard Is Used on Export Orders
Buyers working to ISO documentation, and OEMs harmonising a multi-country bill of materials, specify ISO 7435 so that parts are interchangeable regardless of origin. The dimensions match DIN 417 exactly, so an ISO 7435 screw and a DIN 417 screw of the same size are physically the same part — the difference is which standard number appears on the drawing and the certificate. We quote and certify to whichever your documentation requires. Where the mating part has no hole, a cup point (ISO 7436) locks on the plain surface instead.
Why Brass
Brass ISO 7435 suits non-magnetic and corrosion-sensitive location — instrument stages, optical mounts, light indexing gear and electrical positioning — and mating into brass or aluminium without the seizing risk of plated steel. CW614N turns a clean dog and crisp slot at production speed. For high-load drives, steel or stainless is available to the same ISO 7435 geometry.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. The two standards specify identical dimensions for the slotted long-dog-point set screw. The choice is simply which number your drawing and certificate reference; we can mark to either.
ISO designations are used on international and multi-country bills of materials to keep parts interchangeable across suppliers and regions.
It is the long dog variant — for example about 1.5 to 1.75 mm on M3 and 4.0 to 4.3 mm on M8. The short-dog equivalent is ISO 4028 hex socket.
